FAQ:

  • Small batch means that our honey is harvested in limited quantities, with care and intention. We follow the bees natural rhythms and only collect what they are ready to share. No rushing and no mass production. Each jar reflects a specific season, location, and bloom, making every batch a little unique and extra special.

  • If your jar has turned thick, grainy, or solid no worries! That is totally natural and actually a sign of raw, high quality honey! Honey from our hives is never pasteurized or processed so over time, the natural sugars start to solidify. Crystallized honey is perfectly safe and delicious to eat.. just a little more work to pour from the bottle, promise it’s worth it! If you want it smooth again, grab a pot, and fill it with warm water. Place the jar inside to hangout for a little with the cork on (don’t let water get inside the jar). Replace warm water as it cools if more time is needed. It will return to its liquid state (can take 30-45 minutes depending on how solid it has become). Make sure you get every last drop of that liquid gold.

All honey will eventually crystallize, though the speed varies depending on the season. Spring honey often crystallizes faster because the nectar sources available, such as clover, dandelion, and fruit trees, have a higher glucose-to-fructose ratio, and glucose crystallizes more readily than fructose. Spring honey also tends to contain more pollen, which further speeds up crystallization.

Fall honey, from sources like goldenrod, and asters, usually contain more fructose, which slows down crystallization. However, other factors, including pollen content and storage temperature, also play a significant role in how quickly honey crystallizes.

  • Great question :) The color of raw, pure honey can vary from batch to batch depending on the flowers the bees visited, the season, and the location of the hive. Lighter honey often comes from spring blooms, while darker honey tends to come from late summer or fall nectar sources. Each variation is completely natural and part of what makes small batch, raw honey so special!
